Paddle boating is just perfect for family with kids or lazy ones like me, especially the weather is too hot for hiking while you want some outdoor activities under the shadow (cover of the boat). The boating lake I am going to introduce you is located at Wong Nai Chung Reservoir Park which is easily reached by public transport within 30 mins.
If you did a hiking trail from Park View to Stanley, you should have passed by this lake before. Take a bus from Central and arrive at Wong Nai Chung Gap road, walk up for 5 mins towards Parkview – the red brick buildings and you will see Wong Nai Chung Reservoir Park where locates the artificial lake for boating. Rent a 2-seater pedal boat, 4-seater pedal boat or 2-seater rowing boat and get the game started. You may also bring some bread for feeding the fish and turtles there – they are huge and energetic, and of course get some drinks / food at the kiosk to enjoy at the boat. The lake is operated by the government Leisure and Cultural Services Department, so I think it is pretty safe and you can borrow safety jackets.
